We were trading with the Asians for hundreds of years before you guys arrived... And the feature of that exchange was one of respect for difference and accommodation of difference. And above all, unlike the Anglo-Celtics the Macassans in particular and the Papuans respected our sovereignty. And didn't interfere with it. They did trade with us. And that trade was stopped... that trade was stopped by the Anglo-Celtics. I don't deny there was conflict from time to time.
