There was some discussion, at times quite spirited discussion, as to the direction we were taking for the Australian nation, whether the promulgation of Ethnic Radio and Multicultural Television might not prove to be divisive.
CONTINUATION OF INTERVIEW AS TEXT
This was felt by at least one member of the Board. It was something I totally fought against because I was brought up in a strongly assimilated atmosphere in the ‘30s and ‘40s, so I couldn't see this. My philosophy was clear cut. We really had to have cultural pluralism in radio and television.
